Welcome to GCT's Love George website, celebrating the life of Lonesome George and raising awareness of Galapagos
Lonesome George sadly passed away on 24 June, 2012. He had become an international icon for conservation and on Valentine’s Day this year, we launched an appeal asking supporters to show their love for Galapagos by supporting our Love George Appeal. Lonesome George was the last of his species and his memory serves as a poignant reminder that there are many other species that also face extinction unless we do something to address the threats they face.

Money raised from this appeal will go towards supporting a wealth of conservation projects in the Archipelago and we will be featuring some key projects and issues on this website over the coming months. |
